the After is now available on Scribd, for free to download. I've put up the first 43 pages -- everything that's here on the blog so far -- and will update that periodically, so if you're just getting started in this story, or if you like to read stuff away from your 'puter (imagine that!), go download it so far and take my story with you!

Also, I've updated the Scribd version of Up So Down, the previous story that appeared here. The full version is available, for a limited time only, as I edit it down to publishable levels. Go print that off and read the entire story one last time.
If you missed Up So Down, here's a recap: When Sarah's fiance drowns on the night of his bachelor's party, Sarah is left alone to cope with the loss by caring for her dying mother, halfheartedly joining a group trying to prove there's a serial killer at work, and hating her brother, Bumpy. Bumpy was there on the night of the drowning, but too drunk to remember anything, and he copes his own way: By moving to Las Vegas, getting engaged, and accidentally selling a sitcom script. Up So Down is a moving, engaging look at how dramatic events in a life can seem commonplace, and about how, in life, we don't get to know people in chronological order, but instead watch a life unfold the way the book does: backwards and forwards, up and down, but always interestingly.
Man, that sounds good, doesn't it? Makes me want to go read it, and I already know how it ends!

Hi - several months ago you got in touch with me via a comment on my blog, Online Novels, http://online-novels.blogspot.com/ about listing your books. I replied (on the blog, since I didn't have an email address for you) that I try not to list unfinished serials, but that I would be interested in doing so when they're complete. I see that Up So Down (apparently Up So Floating Many Bells Down in a former life)is on Scribd. May I link to it?
Thank you.
Sincerely, Susan Crealock
